Business Model

JamStarr Entertainment will safeguard Cast & Crew by allowing for “above union scale rates” to attract and secure talent, both in front and behind the camera, as well as Picture & Sound Quality utilizing our top-of-the-line sound and video equipment, including the use of Underwater cameras. If this area is compromised or neglected, the film’s quality suffers, and the number of distribution streams gets reduced. 

Areas of the budget we are able to trim include Locations, stemming from our “local connections in Michigan”, and “lower than scale rates” for writers, directors and producers.  These team members are already onboard and committed to the mission of the project.  

This combination allows for us to achieve an economical price-tag but ensure an premier product.  

Once the film is complete, we will seek distribution across the entire cycle of monetization which include theatrical release, VOD, etc. both domestically and internationally.  We will concurrently enter the film festival circuit to generate industry buzz, award fever and buyer interest.

Market Challenges

Faith-based films have been compared to mainstream films, and are often criticized for using inexperienced talent and crew because of the their inability to secure needed capital.  A lack of ample capital inherently diminishes expanded production resulting in limited distribution outlets, and a lower return on investment.  However, faith-based films have garnered renewed interest from investors because their audiences have proven faithful because of the sincere messages of hope, love and enduring inspiration this film genre brings.

Although most faith-based films take a genuine approach, the dialogue is too basic, and the plots are placated (easy to assume the outcome). These movies rarely make it over the mainstream boundary where they would prevail upon a larger audience and increase profits considerably.  Films transcending this trend are true life stories like “Heaven is For Real” and “Miracles From Heaven;” proving that broader audiences crave transformational content.

In large part, Faith Based films fall short of realism and lack the ability to trigger the interest of the mainstream viewer who receives a constant barrage of content lacking morals, and preys on the weakness of a culture that has fallen into chaos.  Children, as well as adults, are desensitized because destructive and violent content has become the norm.  Authentic and transformational content that is uplifting and validating is seriously needed.

Audiences have increasingly been requesting family-friendly content and movies that are relatable to them and their lifestyles.  They want to have a date night at the movies that the entire family can discuss afterwards at the dinner table.  God centered, faith-based movies take them from mythological tall tales to relatable content that will rejuvenate, inspire and give them renewed belief in a brighter future for themselves, their family, and for the world.  Messages of overcoming and becoming whole, as seen in Bring Back Summertime, are intrinsic to human nature and spiritual growth.  True stories delivering those messages create a ‘can’t wait’ attitude for moviegoers to suspend reality and step into the forage of a larger than life drama, transformational music, and triumph making it their own story and revelation.    Stirring the soul strings, and the heart strings by bringing victory,  peace and jubilation will keep mainstream and faith-based audiences coming back to see Bring Back Summertime again and again.

Ms. Lawrence-Watkins has over nineteen years of experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements ranging from licensing, employment, corporate transactions, to product endorsement and influencer deals on behalf of entertainment and corporate brands. Ms. Lawrence-Watkins’ sharp negotiating skills have earned her clients over millions of dollars in advances and residual income. She periodically appears as a guest lecturer and panelist at colleges, law schools and conferences nationally and internationally.
